I’d make a PS5 joke, but you wouldn’t get it anyway.
You’re one of the lucky ones if you’ve managed to get your hands on a PlayStation 5.
This console continues to sell in a matter of minutes, even after its launch on November 12, 2020.
That isn’t why we are here, though. There’s no sense in me talking about the PS5 because we all know how excellent of a console it is, but it doesn’t guarantee your sound is good, and after all the PS5 won’t be your speaker.
A sound bar is one thing that comes to mind right now that would complement the PS5’s capabilities.
Yes, a sound bar will perfectly complete your console.
When you pair your PlayStation 5 with a nice soundbar, you’ll have a fantastic gaming experience.
The clear and strong gaming noises, together with the haptic feedback provided by your controller, will ensure that you have a wonderful time.
To make things easier for you, I looked into all of the sound bar options and put together a list of my favorite PS5 soundbars (They will undoubtedly become your favorite as well, very soon.)
Without wasting time further, let’s start and take a look at the best soundbars for PS5 you can buy.

Top 5 Best Soundbars for PS5
5. Sonos Arc – Most Versatile
When it comes to speakers in general, Sonos is not a new name. Sonos has already secured a spot on the bench next to the big boys (Bose, Sony, etc). The Sonos Arc, for example, is a sound bar that exemplifies this.
Although the price is not cheap, the Arc compensates for it by providing excellent quality in many areas.
The Sonos Arc is a versatile speaker that is also one of the best.
It has a modern look and is simple to set up. The design is unremarkable, consisting solely of a black design (it can be found in white too). However, it sure looks aesthetically pleasing just due to being plain and discreet.
It comes with six built-in speakers that produce clear, sharp sound. It has a dedicated subwoofer that gives the music experience more depth.
If you value great sound quality, this sound bar is superb and performs well on its own. Simply put, this little box produces full, rich sound waves.
Furthermore, Enhanced Trueplay, a Sonos innovation, can automatically adjust your area by analyzing all-acoustic factors.
If you have other sonos speakers, you can connect them to get surround sound.

4. JBL Bar 9.1 – Best High-End
The JBL Bar 9.1 is the next option on the list, among the best soundbars currently not just for gaming but almost anything. Just becerful of the painful price it comes with.
If you are a rich fella who wants the best sound from a soundbar, then your chase stops here with the JBL Bar 9.1.
The JBL Bar 9.1 is extremely well-made. Its top and front sides are composed of metal, which protects its speakers while also giving it a sleek appearance.
Despite the fact that the back and bottom are constructed of plastic, it seems strong and long-lasting.
The sound bar provides a fantastic audio experience and transports you to a movie theater in your own home.
Unlike some other sound bars in this list, it has a remote control which is very easy to use. The remote control has everything you need in one place.
The soundbar’s coolest feature is that it has two detachable surround speakers, as well as Dolby Atmos and DTS:X 3D sound. It has 9.1 surround sound, which makes everything sound better and more realistic. It has detachable satellite speakers too. You can place the satellite speakers wherever you want.
It also comes with a wireless subwoofer, which has pretty powerful bass. The 10″ wireless subwoofer is compact and portable, meaning you can place it wherever you want.
This setup is ideal for gamers who want to hear slight differences and transitions during online competitions. You won’t have a problem hearing the essential sounds of a video game, such as gunfire, dialogues, and footsteps.

3. Dell AC511M – Best Budget
It would be unfair of me to simply mention a high-end sound bar like the one above and praise it.
Given the pricing, it’s safe to assume that it’ll be good and feature-rich.
However, don’t worry for you out there who are on a budget and want nothing serious, just a sound bar to simply enjoy some good sounds.
I have one of the best options on the market. It comes from Dell and it is the Dell Soundbar AC511M.
The Dell Stereo USB Soundbar is a small, USB-powered soundbar that fits just beneath your display.
This bad boy has two active drivers that you plug into your monitor.
It promises to produce magnificent clear stereo sound without the need to install drivers or deal with a tangle of cables on your desk.
This speaker isn’t innovative, but considering the price, which is just under $35, it provides more than it should.
The overall sound is good with great follow bass that follows it.
- USB Powered
- Decent Overall Sound
- Great Bass
- Audio Jack
- Good Mount System
2. Razer Leviathan V2 – Best Runner-Up
Razer will always be there when it comes to gaming equipment. It won’t just be a figure there; it will be filled with great valuable devices.
Razer is well-known for its outstanding gaming devices. It’s no surprise that it’s a brand we encounter everywhere while looking for a gaming product.
The Leviathan V2, their soundbar, is no exception. The first Leviathan was a hit with gamers, the second coming intends to accomplish the same thing.
Razer is certainly the best when it comes to design.
It features Razer’s snake-like emblem on the front and is made entirely of plastic. However, don’t be deceived by the plastic; it doesn’t feel cheap in the least because it’s made of high-quality, plastic.
The included subwoofer, on the other hand, has a pure cube shape, it looks quite appealing, I’m not going to lie.
You’ll also appreciate the RGB show this sound bar can put on, as it boasts 18 zones of Chroma RGB illumination that can be customized via the Razer Synapse.
It performs incredibly well in terms of sound quality.
It produces high-quality audio that improves gameplay by giving realistic effects to every explosion or gunshot in a game, after all, it is a gaming soundbar.

- Razer Chroma
1. Sony HT-A7000 – Best Overall
When it comes to Sony, I don’t believe it needs much of an introduction. We see Sony almost everywhere we go, what matters is that they are at the highest pinnacle of everything.
Here’s their soundbar, which has a lot of features and sounds great.
This new Sony flagship is set to delight home viewers looking for a 7.1.2 system that doesn’t take up the entire room, thanks to its top- and side-firing speakers.
When you pull the Sony HT-A7000 soundbar out of the box, you’ll see that it has a sleek simplicity to it, with a metal grill covering the front.
On both ends, fabric covers the side- and top-firing speakers, and the top has a glossy surface with six touch-sensitive controls.
It comes with a remote control which has too many buttons and is very hard to use. The first time i looked at the remote control i thought that i was looking at an airplanes dashboard.
All main Dolby and DTS surround-sound codecs, including Dolby Atmos and DTS:X, as well as the emerging Sony 360 Reality Audio format, are supported with the virtual 7.1.2-channel HT-A7000.
In terms of audio quality, I believe it is now unrivaled, but this is debatable.
It provides a crisp, clean, and compact performance with powerful bass.
Overall, I believe that this soundbar provides the highest sound quality while listening to PS5 games through a speaker.
- 8K and 4K/120 Passthrough
- 7.1 Surround Sound
- Dolby Atmos and DTS:X
- Sony 360 Feature
- Splendid Sound
Choosing the Right Soundbar for Your PS5: A Buyer’s Guide
When it comes to buying the right soundbar for your PS5, there are a few things you must consider. Those things are primary considerations not only for PS5 but for any sound device you purchase.
First and foremost, sound quality is essential.
That is why we purchase a speaker in the first place, for good sound quality. It’s pointless to buy something if the sound isn’t decent.
Soundbars are well-known as excellent alternatives to a full-fledged home theater system, that’s how impressive they are.
A soundbar, for example, comes as a standalone product in a really lovely compact form factor, in a bar’s design, and it produces sounds that immerse us in a 3D sense.
When you consider the PS5’s hepatic technology and the sound characteristics a soundbar can provide, no doubt that the gaming experience will be a blast.
Design and Dimensions
Another crucial consideration is design.
When it comes to purchasing a speaker in general, design is just second to sound quality in terms of importance.
We want something that will look well in our living room or gaming room and will blend in with the rest of the furniture rather than stand out. You want it to match your PS5 and your TV/Monitor flawlessly.
Another consideration when it comes to design is that it should be made of durable materials.
I don’t mean it has to be ultra-durable, but it should be able to withstand some drops and trembling.
In terms of dimensions, there should be enough room for your bar to fit under the TV or at the table where your console set-up sits, but it shouldn’t take up too much space or be misplaced.
When purchasing a soundbar, you should also examine the soundbar’s manufacturer.
There are many options on the market, and buying any soundbar that appeals to you at first glance is not a good idea.
Why am I making this statement? For instance, there are several knock-off brands that appear to make good soundbars on paper, but when the product arrives, it’s a different story.
That is why you must purchase from a reputable manufacturer with a good track record.
When you think about it, a soundbar, or a speaker, is a great addition to your setup that will improve the whole experience.
However, a lot of soundbars from renowned manufacturers come at a painful price. If you don’t have some money lying around or you don’t want to seriously hurt your bank, you can live without a soundbar.
But even so, the best thing you can do is look for a low-cost soundbar that offers good value.
There are inexpensive soundbars created by well-known firms that offer products that are within a reasonable price range. They’ll just be missing a few extra features that a high-end one would have.
Dolby atmos is an audio format that is able to bring 360-degree sound to you. Should you buy a soundbar with dolby atmos if you’re going to use it with a PS5?
If you’re specifically buying a soundbar for PS5, you shouldn’t, because PS5 does not support dolby atmos for games. However, if you’re going to use your soundbar for other things too such as watching movies or listening to music, it’s a good addition to have.
PS5 Soundbars: Frequently Asked Questions
Is it possible to use soundbars with the PS5?
Yes. All you need is a HDMI cable. You can connect your PS5 to your soundbar if it has an HDMI input as well as an HDMI ARC port.
Will a soundbar improve the dialogues?
Yes, soundbars improve the clarity and understanding of dialogue. You won’t have to worry about in-game voices.
How will the soundbar perform in First Person Shooter Gamers?
It will do decently and pretty much it will do the job it is set out to do, you will be able to hear footsteps and such. A soundbar with virtual surround sound will work well in this situation. However, I think a headphone will prove more sufficient in this case.
Can I use the soundbar for other things besides gaming on Ps5?
Yes you sure can. Soundbars are versatile devices that can be used almost with anything that has to do with sound, be it daily computing, listening to music, watching movies and up to gaming.
We made it to the end of the article.
The soundbars stated above are, in my opinion, among the best PS5 soundbars on the market currently.
I did my best to include soundbars in a variety of price ranges.
Still, it comes down to personal preferences in the end, so try them out for yourself and pick the one that suits you the most.
Since we’ve covered soundbars, and I’m sure you enjoyed what you’ve read thus far, you can go on to other topics.
A comparison of JBL Clip 4 and 5 speakers will tell which is superior. A comparison of the JBL Flip 5 and the Sony XB23 is also available, which one, do you think, has the most bass? Is it the JBL Go 2 or the Go 3? Check it out.
I even looked through and reviewed the Bang & Olufsen Beolit 20 speakers. There’s also a review of the Bose SoundLink Flex. Without leaving behind the review of one of my favourite speakers, the Sonos Move.
