Soundbars have to be one of my favorites when it comes to audio equipment or speakers in general.

When most people, including myself, are unable to set up a complete home theater system due to the high cost or prefer to keep things simple, we turn to a soundbar, which is a simple and highly effective solution.

A soundbar is an excellent home theater alternative. It’s a fantastic approach to enhancing sound while maintaining a stylish appearance.

However, you may experience issues with them from time to time, that will require a reset.

Perhaps you own an LG since you searched for how to reset an LG soundbar.

I’m going to skip the part where I generally review and praise LG as a manufacturer. I’ll cut the chase and get right to the point.

In today’s blog, we’ll learn how to reset the LG soundbar without a remote.

Let’s get started on how to reset LG soundbar without wasting any more time.

Lost my remote, How to reset your LG Soundbar?

Other devices can be reset using either the remote control buttons or the soundbar control panel, however, the LG soundbar needs both.

Anyway, losing track of remotes is nothing new. It happens. Even worse, they break and don’t work, or sometimes they even run out of batteries.

Lucky for us, there is a way to reset an LG Soundbar even without one. Some people are not aware of this, but it is quite possible and there are actually 4 ways to do so.

But, before you do, you should be aware that resetting your soundbar comes with a general warning.

Warning!
All data, personalization, and previous factory settings will be deleted and unrecoverable if you reset the soundbar.

So yes, make sure you know what you are doing.

The First Method

  • On your LG Soundbar, locate the input and Bluetooth buttons.
  • Press and hold them together for at least 10 seconds.
  • When you release it, your soundbar should be rebooted.

The Second Method

  • Locate the Power Button (On/Off) and Bluetooth button once more.
  • Hold them for a minimum of 10 seconds.
  • After that, you’re good to go.

The Third Method

  • If none of the previous techniques work, or if the buttons are simply broken,
  • This time, just look for the power button and the volume down.
  • Hold for at least 10 seconds before releasing.
  • It should be rested now.

The Fourth, The Hard Reset Method

This is the process of a hard reset. I would only recommend this as a last resort or if none of the other methods mentioned above work.

  • Turn the soundbar off altogether.
  • Disconnect all the soundbar connections.
  • Forget the soundbar from your other devices if possible.
  • Connect everything back up and turn on the soundbar.

This will most likely work because it is meant to be a hard reset.

How To Normally Reset Your LG Soundbar

So you found your remote. Good for you.

Having the LG remote will make things easier, not just for resetting it but in general.

Most features are found and controlled by the remote control, missing it might sometimes cost you more in the long run. Remote control is always important.

  • Try to locate the Input and Bluetooth buttons on the remote to reset your LG soundbar.
  • Hold them in place for 10 seconds.
  • It’s as simple as that.

(We pretty much follow the exact procedure with the remote as we did without it.)

When and Why Should You Reset your LG Soundbar?

You don’t want to just reset your soundbar at random. It comes with caution, as I already stated.

All of the dates and settings you made prior to the reset will be lost, everything will be returned to its factory settings.

The most common time when we want to reset it would be when we are having trouble pairing it with other devices.

There will always be pairing issues with soundbars and other speakers, such as Bluetooth speakers, and this is where a reset comes in.

Apart from that, there are also a lot of other things that a reset can fix.

For example, it can assist with improper settings and even more serious software difficulties.

What I like about the resetting process is that it can alert us to a bigger problem.

Resetting your device is the best way to fix many problems, but if the reset process doesn’t seem to work, now is the time to contact customer service or send it to a technician.

Final Words

As you can see, the process is quite simple and straightforward.

However, I believe that some people are held back because they are unaware that they may do a reset without using their remote control.

This lack of information might cost some people even money, so from now on I don’t think you’ll have to worry about resetting your LG soundbar now that you know and have read the instructions.

Hopefully, I’ve provided you with all of the information you needed to reset your LG soundbar.

Enjoy your LG soundbar!
