If not, KRK is in charge of bringing you guys some of the most essential and the greatest studio monitors in the whole world. Their devices are quite popular and super used by different professionals in the field of music.
However, we are here, and you found this article while having something else in mind. Here, you will find a comparison between KRK Classic 5 and KRK Rokit 5, which are the brand’s great studio monitors. I will write for you guys the comparison in detail while mentioning some of the most important things that define a studio monitor.
I will get at the main topic after introducing you guys to these amazing studio monitors! Let us find out more!
Meet the Studio Monitors
Just as I mentioned above, the first thing that I will do and start this article with is introduce you to the studio monitors from KRK while mentioning some general information about them.
KRK Classic 5
KRK Classic 5 comes from the great classic series that is a flagship for the KRK brand. This studio monitor is one of those that is intended for studio use mostly, as it does a great job overall. The KRK Classic 5 studio monitor was firstly released on September 19, 2019, and interestingly enough, from then, it has become one of the first choices for the new sound producers.
KRK Rokit 5
Moving on to KRK Rokit 5, as it tells from its name, it comes from a different series of the brand which is Rokit, and in this series, you will find more launchings and more devices. This one was launched on February 5, 2019, and it seems like the DJs are loving them. In a word, the Rokit 5 is quite professional and a super versatile studio monitor.

Head-to-Head Comparison
Right now, at this part, I will compare them based on the main features that a studio monitor should own or provide us with! Let’s see the comparison!
Design and Build Quality
Everybody once in their lifetime has seen a KRK speaker, especially if you are a professional. KRK has an interesting flagship in the design part and they bring their speakers in a combination of black and yellow colors, and once you see a speaker with those colors you will immediately notice that it comes from KRK. They both are sturdy enough to last for a long period of time.
Anyways, there is a slight difference that should be mentioned between these studio monitors. The KRK Classic 5 measures 14.9 x 12 x 10.3 inches and weighs 6.6 pounds, meanwhile, the KRK Rokit 5 measures 15.1 x 12.6 x 10.2 inches, and it weighs around 10.67 pounds.
Everything that you need to control, all the buttons that are needed can be found at the back part of both the studio monitors and what I would like to mention here is that they are quite easy to be used.
Other Parts
Here are some other measurements that I should mention besides the ones that I mentioned above for the overall sizes. These studio monitors are both two-way, and that means that both the KRK Classic 5 and Rokit 5 own a woofer and a tweeter added on their front parts.
The KRK Classic 5 has an aramid composite woofer that is 5 inches, and a soft dome tweeter that measures only one inch. Moving on to Rokit 5, we deal with a 5.25 inches kevlar aramid fiber woofer and a kevlar aramid fiber tweeter which is 1 inch.
Is there a winner?
Considering the part of the looks and the build quality, both of the studio monitors are sturdy enough and have the same design, but if we move to the movements or the portability part, being lighter in weight the KRK Rokit G5 is a little bit more compact.
Connectivity
On the connectivity information about speakers in general what you should know is their power rating which tells the highest input that is able to flow through the device. Well, in these two KRK studio monitors we have the same power rating and it is 55 W RMS.
In order to get connected, the KRK Classic uses a TRS Balanced input, an XLR balanced input, and an RCA unbalanced input. When we move on to the KRK Rokit 5, we only deal with a combo of XLR input, which is balanced and unbalanced as well.
Is there a winner?
In case your interest is on the connectivity and the inoputs that a studio monitor owns, then you can clearly notice that the KRK Classic 5 has a little bit oore when compared with KRK Rokit 5. Still, it doesn’t mean that there is a winner at this point, since the combo XLR input in Rokit 5 does an amazing job.
Performance in Sound Quality
The first thing that I would like to mention here is that these two studio monitors own the same frequency response, which starts from 43 Hz and moves on to 40 kHz. There is the SPL (Sound Pressure Level) which is the same as well and it is known at 104 dB.
Since I mentioned the most important specifications and they are the same, let me tell you how these two studio monitors sound.
Considering the fact that these studio monitors are being used by many professionals in the world of sound and music, you can already understand how these two beasts sound in a general form. Both of them are able to provide you with super clear sound accuracy, and they know how to deal with all the frequencies of the sound from lows, mids, and highs. The highs are controlled by their tweeters meanwhile the lows are in charge of the woofers that these studio monitors have.
Many people say that both KRK Classic 5 and KRK Rokit 5 sound amazing and excellent just out of the box and that they wouldn’t change them for anything in the world.
Bass
I know that many of you guys ut there may be bass lovers, and when KRK brought these studio monitors to the market, they thought about you as well. In both of the studio monitors, KRK Classic 5 and KRK Rokit 5, you will find bass-reflex systems, which are enclosures on the studio monitors and they use a hole in order to provide you with a better bass accuracy. The bass that comes out of these two studio monitors is definitely one of a kind.
Is there a winner?
Clearly, reading what I mentioned here states that there is now inner of this category because both of the studio monitors, KRK Classic 5 and KRK Rokit 5, are perfectly made with high quality of sound.
Final Words, Verdict
Coming at the end I wouldn’t state anything when it comes to the winning process or say anything whether any of these studio monitors is better than the other one.
VBoth of them are greatly built, can be greatly connected wth other devices, and they are able to deliver an impressive sound quality.
At least, I hope you understood what I meant and what I mentioned in this article!
