With the wide range of the variety of the audio products out there, it is quite hard to decide what items to buy and what to leave, in order to make the best out of the house sound system and not only. There are so many things that need to be considered, in order to come up with the best decision possible, even though every time there is something pending at the corner because as I said, the wide range of variety forces us to leave out so much good stuff. Among the things that need to be considered is not just the sound quality of the audio items, even though that’s one of the most important things, but you have to consider also the size of the speakers and the overall look of your room.

Polk as a company has been out there for quite some years now and becoming the best in the audio market, they have gained the respect and trust of so many people. The Products that hold Polk’s name provide you with the most immersive sound for the ultimate day experience, and a front-row experience with crystal clear sound. However, as the competition in the market increases, so does the effort of companies to come up with the most innovative and perfect products. And this is the main reason why I am making this comparison in this article, the essence is not that one product is worse than the other, but what makes this product different from the other.

My focus in this article with being the comparison between, Polk S30 and S35, and everything about their features, from the technology to their design, but first I’ll get into a short review of the two speakers. So, without further ado, let’s get started! Here we go!

Polk S30 Overview

I’m going to do this as quickly as possible so we can get to comparing Polk S30 with Polk S35. Let me just say that Polk S30 is built to fill your leaving room with music, or if I have to be more specific, with surround sound. It brings a sensational musical atmosphere or any other audio in a way that it makes so delicate that you will fall for it immediately.

A great vocal accuracy, a bit cheaper than the other speaker that it will be compared with, but overall it has an amazing sound for movies, music, and gaming. Its only downside can be the fact that this speaker can be a bit bulky.

Polk S35 Overview

This one is the updated version of Polk S35 and has very few advantages compared to S30. Bit, those advantages are enough to make this speaker so dedicated that it can produce glorious sound. A center channel speaker will turn your home into a cinema hall because it has all the great features that an amazing speaker needs to have, so it can be called amazing.

The only downside of the Polk S35 can be the fact that it takes a while to hear the bass sounds.

Now, let’s get into comparing these two great speakers!

Which One is Worth It?

Sound Quality

The main and the most important thing that speakers need to provide, and I think we can all agree on that. The features that the sound quality holds in itself are, for example, the frequency response, sensitivity, impedance, the tweeter and driver of the speaker and so many more other features.

With Polk S30, you could note a difference in the lower frequencies that isn’t present in Polk S35. Frequency response plays such a huge role when it comes to providing fantastic sound. Polk S30 has a frequency response of 42-20k Hz. Another hand Polk S35 has 53-40k Hz, so both of these speakers have a decent frequency response, but the fact is if the first number in a frequency range is low, then it means the most resonant bass, and for that reason, in this case, S30 holds the crown.

When it comes to sensitivity, if your speaker doesn’t provide a decent sensitivity rate, you can not expect a louder sound. S30 has a higher sensitivity rate than S35, but only for one dB, so the difference is not that big.

If we have to talk about the impedance, here the two speakers are completely in a tie, because of both speakers with an impedance of 8ohm.

Is there a winner?
Yes, there is! If you have read the above text carefully, you might have understood that the older version of these speakers is the winner and that’s S30. You know, it is not a coincidence that they say, old bud gold.

If you put these two speakers together side by side, you would immediately notice the difference, and see that Polk S35 is a bit more stylish and modern-looking than Polk S30, because there is an obvious difference in size and even more difference in appearance when the grille is off between these two speakers. The Polk logo on the front of the grille is on both of these speakers, they have curved edges and they are both black.

Polk S30 measures 7.5 x 20 x 10.6 inches and weighs 20 pounds, whereas Polk S35 is more compact at 4.1 x 24.4 x 6.1 inches and it weighs less at 14 pounds.

Is there a winner?
Yes, there is! This time S35 hold the crown and that makes this speaker, the winner. A more compact speaker with a more stylish and modern design.
