Shure Aonic 50 vs Sony WH-1000XM4
As you can notice, above I mentioned some of the most important aspects like frequency response and drivers, that these two headphones own, but still there are some other things that deserve to be mentioned and everyone cares about. Those things mostly include:
Design and Build Quality
Both of the headphones that I am talking about, Shure Aonic 50 and Sony WH-1000XM4 are quite good-looking. Shure and Sony definitely know how to fulfill the need of looking quite cool over your ears since both of them are over-ear headphones.
Shure made their headphones while using metal and leather combined together. The headband and the earcups of Shure Aonic 50 are very comfortable since on the inner part they include a soft-padded cushion, for not irritating your ears and your nerves as well. They come in three finishes such as brown, black, and white.
As long as the durability is concerned, based on the metal pieces, the Shure Aonic 50 are very durable when it comes to breakage or any other thing, but still, they are not quite resistant when it comes to usage in environments that include water and even sweat since they don’t own an IP rating of any kind.
Sony on the other hand made their headphones totally out of plastic! Anyways, the headband and the earcups both include a super fluffy material that is related to the part of the comfortability that these headphones provide you with. The colors that you can choose from include black, blue, and silver.
Again, we are dealing with not waterproof nor water-resistant headphones, so you may want to be careful where you use them.
Is there a winner?
Based on the things that I mentioned in this part, I don’t think that there is a winner. However, there might be a winner when it comes to your preferences. For example, you can like different colors and one owns them meanwhile the other ones don’t. It is all up to you.
Connectivity
The connectivity of these headphones is something that shines in both of them. They both own a sturdy wireless connection, and they both can be paired with different devices that you may already own.
Shure Aonic 50 uses Bluetooth version 5 which is one of the latest versions that Bluetooth launched until now. Once you connect these headphones, you will notice that there is no interruption or any other kind of problem. The Bluetooth codecs that Shure works with include SBC, AAC, LDAC, aptX, aptX HD, and aptX Low Latency.
Sony WH-1000XM4 headphones also use Bluetooth version 5, and it works in the greatest way possible. The codecs that Sony has added to these headphones are SBC, AAC, and LDAC, and every connection is very strong. Besides Bluetooth, the Sony headphones also use NFC pairing which is one of the greatest one-tap connections in Android devices.
Is there a winner?
I guess it is a bit noticeable whether there is a winner or not in the connectivity part. As you can see, Shure headphones can work with more codecs meanwhile the Sony headphones own an extra technology which is the NFC. Again based on your preferences? Yes!
Sound Quality
As a general form of saying, both headphones know how to bring the best sound quality to you. They both sound clear enough to provide you with the greatest music, that you ever heard. Anyways, there are some things that should definitely be mentioned.
The Shure Aonic 50 are headphones that are aimed at professionals and audiophiles! That can mean only one thing! These headphones bring one of the greatest sound qualities that you have ever listened to.
Sony WH-1000XM4 even though not made especially for audiophiles, sounds great, and brings an exceptional clarity of the sound in general.
A thing that both these headphones have in common is Noise-Cancelling Technology. In Shure, we find an adjustable noise cancellation which means that it is up to you on selecting how much noise should be canceled, this is also known as ambient noise or ambient sound mode. When we go, on the other hand, Sony’s noise-canceling ability is called industry-leading. Why so? Well, these Sony headphones are mostly known for this part, and they are known as the best noise-canceling headphones that you can ever use, they completely cancel background noise thanks to their high-end microphone quality.
Is there a winner?
In case you are an audiophile then the Shure Aonic 50 is the winner for you, the accurate sound it provides it’s just top notch. However, in case you need the greatest noise-canceling headphones on the nowadays market, then it seems like the winner changes and becomes Sony WH-1000XM4, I can go as far as say the best headphones and headphones for noisy environments.
Battery Life
Since I mentioned the battery type in the table of specifications above, what should be mentioned here is the battery life.
Shure Aonic 50 can be fully charged within two and a half hours and once they are ready, you can use them for about 20 hours of nonstop usage. Sony WH-1000XM4 on the other hand require a bit more in order to be completely charged since they should stay charging for three hours. The Sony headphones can be used for up to 30 hours of battery life.
Is there a winner?
Based on the battery life and the time that they can be used, it seems like the winners here are the Sony headphones! 30 hours of battery life are the best thing that headphones can own as a feature.
Final Words
Shure Aonic 50 and Sony WH-1000XM4 definitely are the greatest headphones that anyone can purchase, and I assure you about that!
What should be mentioned is that it is again everything based on your preferences and there is not found a definite winner. Anyways, I would like to mention that the Sony headphones are one of people’s favorite headphones among everything that is on the market.
I don’t think there is anything more to be mentioned regarding these two types of headphones besides I hope you can distinguish between them and I hope you find the best ones for you!
