They are so versatile that I like to call them “Swiss Army Knife”, They can be used in almost everything and still provide the same good quality.
Audio-Technica sure knows its way in the design field. The M50X is stylish yet nothing flashy, if you prefer them to be more “flamboyant” you can pick them in orange, the orange color will sure turn some heads.
They come in a full plastic build, nothing wrong with that since it is high-quality plastic, and what’s more, the plastic contributes to their lightweight. The headband is made of leather mostly for a better fit and comfort, while the earpads are made of very fluffy cushions.
The headphones are flexible and foldable, with earpads that can be moved up to 90 degrees.
Being versatile and being used in multiple ways, they don’t fail to impress Dj’s either or the EDM genre in general. They might have been around for some time now, but they are still as iconic as when they first emerged in the industry.
What makes them this good, must be their reliable-ness, durability, lightweight, and obviously the exceptional sound quality.
The HD 25 are closed, dynamic headphones for monitoring and recording. They are extremely comfortable while featuring a minimalistic headband, that is made to suit the DJ’s. I have big ears, so these don’t fit me well. If you have bigger ears too, i recommend you take a look at a pair of headphones for big ears instead.
Both the ear pads and the headband has a good amount of padding, even though it feels like they don’t when you first touch them. They are insanely stable and rock-solid on the head when worn, it won’t move around when you dance around, it makes sure to stay right where you put it.
Being closed-back and made in mind to cancel environment sound, they sure succeed at it giving a great amount of passive noise isolation.

Yes, I am well aware of the importance of low frequencies, a large amount of EDM music has an importance on low-end frequencies.
To bring the best out of them, you will need a 40-50mm which is ideal for handling low-end frequencies.
With that being said, and above, Driver is not everything there are other things you need to consider.
Audio Isolation
Another crucial thing would be noise cancellation. For example, an open-back design lends itself to a more natural sound, but they expose themselves to background noise.
Unless you live in a really quiet environment, you will be fine. Over ear and Closed-back headphones are the way to go for passive noise isolation, they are the opposite of open-back – blocking out the environment so you can focus on your DJ’ing more.
Lucky for us ANC (Active Noise Cancellation) is being implanted in most edm headphones that are hitting it off in the market, so if they have ANC it is a huge bonus and their type won’t matter that much.
