Philips Fidelio X2HR Vs. SHP9500

Design and Built Quality

I will start by comparing the design and build quality of the headphones. The Philips Fidelio X2HR headphones have a very stylish and cool appearance simultaneously. They are made of dense plastic, and they are very durable. Some parts are made of metal, giving the headphones extra sturdiness.

The earcups are large enough to fit any ears, and they are well-cushioned to provide the comfort that most of us desire. The headphones possess an adjustable headband, which has an intriguing and different appearance compared to many other headphones. Unfortunately,

I have to mention a drawback of these headphones. The headphones are bulky, and you can not fold them, so the portability sucks. This is the only negative thing I can mention regarding the design and built quality of the headphones.

What about the design and build quality of the Philips SHP9500? They are mainly built of plastic, and they are sturdy as well, but not as their rival. The headphone’s design is very stylish and expensive appearance, in my opinion.

The earcups are large and can fit perfectly; cushioning of the earcups is excellent, but the fabric used is a bit rough, so I’m not too fond of the feeling it gives. The headband is lovely and has some metal additions that make it withstand any drops and remain unbroken.

Philips SHP9500s are also not foldable, so you won’t be able to carry them wherever you want since they are a bit bulky. As you can see, both of the headphones have similar designs, but the Philips Fidelio X2HRs are way more durable and comfortable.

Connectivity

Connectivity is an essential factor that affects the overall quality of headphones. I have nothing different to mention about the connectivity of these headphones.

The Philips Fidelio X2HR and the Philips SHP9500 are wired headphones, indicating that they use cables to connect to any device. They both use a 1/8″ TRS for connection.

The length of the cable is what differs between them. The Philips Fidelio X2HR has a cable of 10.30ft, whereas the cable length of the Philips SHP9500 is 9.84 ft. As you can see, it is not a significant distinction, though.

Noise Isolation

Moving on to noise isolation, unfortunately, both headphones are open-back, it is not difficult to predict that they have poor noise isolation. So, they are not capable of blocking external noises.

This means that if you need a pair of headphones that will block all unnecessary noises, these two headphones are not the ones that you should consider.

Sound Quality

Now, let’s get to the main part of the article. We all want to hear about sound quality, right?

First and foremost, let me mention that the Philips Fidelio X2HR headphones deliver impeccable sound performance, and now let’s discuss this case in more detail.

The bass accuracy, or rather the low-end, is very accurate, and you will get great bass; besides that, the mids are what make these headphones unique. The Philips Fidelio X2HRs mids are very accurate, and you can hear every tone and delicate sound clearly.

The sound profile will be crystal clear. I have nothing to complain about the highs as well. So, you will get a neutral and amazing sound.

The Philips SHP9500 headphones are also known for their neutral sound deliverance. The mids are perfect and very accurate; due to this, the instruments and vocals are clearly expressed. The high-end is amazing as well, with no distortion.

When it comes to bass accuracy, this is the category where the Philips SHP9500 headphones are one step behind the Philips Fidelio X2HRs. The low-end is not bad, but it is not as accurate.

Final Words

This is the end of this challenging battle; I think I am ready to state the winner. From my experience, I can say that the winner of this match or comparison is the Philips Fidelio X2HR headphones.

They deliver better sound quality, and from my experience, they were way more comfortable and durable. The Philips SHP9500 headphones are also great, but there are some aspects where its rival is better. They are still brothers and support each other, though!

I hope this article will be an excellent guide for you and that you will enjoy reading it.

Have a nice day!
